This page describes the site as it is published today. If I ever add any measurement tool, this page is updated before that tool goes live, not after.
What data I collect
None. There are no forms, no email signup, no comments, no field anywhere you can type into. There is no way for this site to know who you are.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. It also uses no browser storage
(localStorage, sessionStorage) or any equivalent
identification technique.
That is why you will not see a cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. If one ever appears, it will be because I added something that requires it, and you will find it explained on this page.
Analytics and advertising tools
None installed. No tracking pixels, no analytics, no heatmaps, no advertising identifiers, no third-party scripts of any kind.
In fact this site runs no JavaScript at all. It is HTML and CSS. You can confirm that by viewing the source of any page.
Third-party requests: the fonts
This is the one exception, and it seems fair to explain it properly, because it is exactly the sort of thing privacy policies tend to leave out.
The fonts on this site (Newsreader and Archivo) load from Google Fonts. That means that when you open any page, your browser makes a request to Google's servers to download them. In that request Google receives, as in any web request, your IP address, your browser's user agent, and the page the font is being requested from.
I receive none of that data and have no access to it. Google's handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy.
It is an avoidable dependency: hosting the font files on the site's own server removes that external request entirely and leaves the site with no third-party connections at all. It is on my list.
Server logs
Like any website, the server hosting it may automatically log technical data about the requests it receives (IP address, date and time, page requested, user agent). This is standard web infrastructure behaviour, necessary to serve pages and detect abuse.
I do not consult those logs to profile visitors, do not cross-reference them with any other source, and do not share them with anyone.
Links to external sites
Several pages link to sites I do not control, mainly two channel-analytics services and Meta's advertising policies. They are listed in resources.
As soon as you follow one of those links you leave this site and become subject to the terms and privacy policy of its owner. I am not responsible for the content or the data practices of third parties, and I earn no commission from those links.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability over your personal data.
In practice, since this site neither collects nor stores any personal data about you, there is nothing to exercise them against. Even so, if you believe something published here affects you, write to me and we will sort it out.
Responsibility and contact
Lena is an independent, non-commercial publication written by its author. It is not a company, sells no products or services, and has no contractual relationship with any of the platforms it writes about.
