Lena Bauer

I write Lena. Independent publication.

I am not a consultant and I do not sell training. I am someone who started using broadcast messaging to distribute things, noticed that almost everything written about it online is copied from another article that was itself copied, and decided to write down only what could be verified in the official documentation.

That is the whole origin of this site. I started taking notes for myself, they ended up readable, so I publish them. If they save you an afternoon of reading contradictory guides, they have done their job.

How I work with sources

This is the only part of this page that really matters, because it is what lets you decide whether to trust what you read.

  • Concrete figures come from the primary source. If I say an ad is shown in channels above a certain subscriber count, it is because that is written in the official documentation, and the end of the article says exactly which document it appears in.
  • When sources contradict each other, I do not pick one. On minimum spend, for example, I found figures that differ by three orders of magnitude. Rather than repeat whichever I liked best, I explain why they vary and send you to check the current number at the source.
  • Opinion is labelled as opinion. "This works" and "I think this works" are not the same sentence, and I try not to blur them.
  • If I get something wrong, I correct it in the article itself. Not in a footnote nobody reads.

What you will not find here

I would rather say this on your first visit than waste your time:

  • Success stories with numbers. I am not going to tell you I tripled anything, because you have no way to check that figure and because someone else's results do not predict yours.
  • Courses, consulting or paid templates. There is nothing to buy on this site.
  • Affiliate links. None of the links in resources pays me a commission. They are there because I use them.
  • Shortcuts. There is no trick that makes a channel grow by itself. What there is, is understanding how the channel actually behaves — duller, and more useful.
Independence

This site is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of the platforms it writes about, nor by Meta. I write about their products as a user, reading their public documentation. When I cite a rule from either, I link the original text, because rules change and my summary ages faster than theirs.

Getting in touch

If you find an error, if something has gone out of date, or if you want to argue with something I wrote, I want to hear it. Error correction is literally the quality control of a site like this.
